Design & Artwork Preparation
The process begins with preparing the design layout as per IRC guidelines. The size, font style, colour combination, arrow marks, and symbols are finalized. The artwork is created using design software to ensure proper spacing, readability, and compliance with traffic standards.
Selection of Raw Materials
High-quality aluminium sheets (2mm–3mm thickness) are selected for manufacturing. Aluminium is preferred due to its lightweight nature, corrosion resistance, and long service life. Retro-reflective sheeting of engineering grade or high-intensity grade is also chosen based on project requirements.
Cutting of Aluminium Sheet
The aluminium sheet is cut into the required rectangular or square size using CNC cutting machines or hydraulic shearing machines. Accurate cutting ensures proper dimensions and uniform shape.
Edge Bending / Flanging
After cutting, the edges of the sign board are bent (usually 25mm border) using a bending machine. This flanging process increases structural strength and removes sharp edges for safety.
Surface Cleaning & Pre-Treatment
The surface of the aluminium sheet is cleaned using degreasing chemicals to remove oil, dust, and impurities. Proper surface preparation ensures strong adhesion of reflective sheeting and long-lasting performance.
Application of Retro-Reflective Sheeting
Retro-reflective sheeting is laminated onto the aluminium surface using roller lamination machines. The sheeting provides high visibility during nighttime and low-light conditions.
Printing of Text & Symbols
Directional arrows, place names, facility symbols, and other information are printed using UV printing, screen printing, or plotter-cut vinyl pasting. Standard colours such as white text on blue/green background are applied as per traffic norms.
Curing & Finishing

Fixing of Back Support & Clamps
