Product Overview
YNM Safety is a trusted RS 1 (Primer) manufacturer and supplier, delivering high-quality Rapid Setting cationic bitumen emulsion engineered for pothole repair, tack coat application, and prime coat surface treatment on highways, urban roads, and industrial pavements.
Our RS-1 bitumen emulsion primer is formulated to break and set rapidly on contact with mineral aggregates, providing excellent bonding strength between the existing pavement and new bituminous overlays. It is widely used as the primer layer beneath cold mix asphalt for fast, all-weather pothole patching.
As experienced bitumen emulsion manufacturers, YNM Safety ensures every batch of RS 1 primer complies with IS 8887, MoRTH 503, and IRC SP-100 specifications. The emulsion is supplied in 200 kg steel drums and bulk tankers for both domestic infrastructure projects and international export.

Pothole Repair Priming
RS-1 primer is the recommended bond coat for pothole patches before applying cold mix asphalt.

Tack Coat for Highway Overlays
RS-1 is used as a tack coat between existing bituminous layers and new asphalt overlays.

Prime Coat on Granular Bases
RS-1 primer seals granular sub-bases prior to bituminous surfacing on new road construction.

Urban Roads & Municipal Maintenance
Used by municipal corporations for routine pothole and crack maintenance on city streets.

Toll Plazas & High-Stress Junctions
RS-1 ensures durable patch repairs at toll plazas and intersections subject to braking stress.

Industrial Roads & Container Yards
Suitable for heavy-duty pavement maintenance in industrial estates, ports, and container yards.

Key Growth Factors of RS 1 (Primer)
Manufacturing Process of RS 1 (Primer)
As trusted RS-1 primer manufacturers, YNM Safety produces cationic bitumen emulsion through a controlled colloid mill process to deliver consistent particle size, stable storage performance, and rapid setting characteristics for pothole repair and pavement priming.
Base Bitumen Selection
VG-10 or VG-30 paving grade bitumen is selected as the base feedstock based on the required emulsion residue and end-use specification. Each batch is tested for penetration, softening point, and ductility before entering the emulsification process.
Aqueous Phase Preparation
Demineralised water is blended with cationic emulsifying agents and a controlled dose of hydrochloric acid to achieve the optimal pH window. This aqueous phase carries the positive charge that defines RS-1 emulsion behaviour.
Bitumen Heating
The selected bitumen is heated to 130–150°C in jacketed storage tanks under continuous agitation. Temperature is closely monitored to ensure proper viscosity for colloid mill processing without thermal degradation.
Colloid Mill Emulsification
Heated bitumen and aqueous phase are simultaneously fed into a high-shear colloid mill operating at 3,000–6,000 rpm. The mill disperses bitumen into micron-sized droplets coated with emulsifier, producing a stable cationic emulsion.
Cooling & Stabilisation
The freshly produced emulsion is cooled through heat exchangers and transferred to stabilisation tanks. A controlled rest period ensures complete emulsifier adsorption and uniform particle size distribution.
Quality Testing
Each batch is tested for residue on sieve, Saybolt Furol viscosity, particle charge, storage stability, residue by evaporation, and water content per IS 8887. Only batches meeting all parameters are released.
Drum Filling & Bulk Loading
Approved RS-1 emulsion is filled into 200 kg steel drums via automated filling lines, with each drum batch-labelled and sealed. Bulk tanker loading is available for project-based supply.
Dispatch & Project Supply
Batches are dispatched with test certificates, MSDS, and batch traceability documents. YNM Safety supports pan-India delivery and export shipments with technical assistance for application crews.
