Road Marking Paint Tender Specification in India — NHAI, PWD & EPC Checklist
How to write and evaluate road marking paint tenders in India: MoRTH/IRC clauses, thermoplastic vs cold plastic specs, test certificates, quantities and vendor qualification for NHAI and state projects.
Key specification references
Indian road marking tenders typically cite MoRTH 803 (thermoplastic), IRC 35 (road markings), IS 164, BS 3262 or AASHTO M249 for export packages. Cold plastic packages add MoRTH 803.7 and client MMA system datasheets. Always attach the exact revision year used in your RFP.
Bill of quantities (BOQ) tips
Split quantities by line type: centre line, edge line, stop line, arrows, symbols, profile markings. State units (kg, litre, sqm) and application method. Include glass bead type (drop-on/premix) and primer quantities separately to avoid vendor ambiguity.
Vendor qualification
Require ISO 9001:2015, minimum supply experience on comparable projects, test certificates per batch, and sample panels or trial lines. For NHAI and state PWD, check approved-make lists if applicable. YNM Safety provides tender support documents and reference lists on request.
Testing and acceptance
Define field tests for thickness, retro-reflectivity, skid resistance and colour. Specify who bears third-party testing cost. Reject non-conforming batches before full deployment — document kettle logs for thermoplastic and mix ratios for cold plastic.
